Review: Becherovka

Becherovka, a herbal spirit, is regarded by the Czechs as a national drink, a herbal remedy and an emetic. Regardless of that cautionary use, when I was offered a 'shot' (really, more like a highball glass) or Becherovka in a Prague beerhall, I went for it.

Light yellow with a strong aroma of cinnamon. The traditional definition of the taste is cinnamon and kerosene. That's basically dead on, there's no better way to describe it. It makes my eyes water just to think of it. This stuff is so intense that a swig of Jagermeister would be a nice soothing chaser to this.

On the other hand, it is a totally badass drink.
