Review: Palm Bay Ruby Grapefruit Sunrise

Now, I'm not normally a cooler drinker, but after spending five hours driving through the Rockies in a convertible at 30C heat, I figured I needed something refreshing. Palm Bay is a new brand of cooler available in British Columbia in two flavours; grapefruit and pineapple mandarin. I could only find the former, but I am definitely intrigued by the sound of the latter.

Hazy pastel pink, carbonated like pop. Smells like grapefruit pop. Tastes like grapefruit pop, but with a little edge of vodka in it. Now, grapefruit pop was my favourite road trip drink as a child, so this is basically pleasant nostalgia combined with vodka. That goes over pretty well in my books, especially since Palm Bay isn't syrupy sweet and has a nice tart finish.
